ASVAB APTITUDE TEST-11TH AND 12TH GRADE
Students in 11th and 12th grade can sign up NOW to take the ASVAB on Wednesday, April 19th at CVHS. The test will take place from 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. in Cougar Hall. If you are interested in taking the ASVAB, please click here to complete the interest form. Space will be limited. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Mrs. Cox at klcox@capousd.org. A permission slip must also be submitted in order for the student to take the exam. You can find the permission slip link on the first part of the interest form.
What is the ASVAB? The ASVAB is an aptitude test that helps students identify the skills and interests required for the college majors and careers they may want to pursue.
- CVHS endorses this test as an additional method for students to learn about their vocational aptitudes. The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a group of ten tests designed to measure a student's aptitude in five separate career field areas and also provides an indication of academic aptitude.
- The ASVAB is an extensively researched test battery developed by experts in the testing field, counselors, and educators. Students will be given the option of whether to release or not release information to military recruiters.
- The test is administered as a courtesy of the armed forces at no cost or obligation to the student. This test is advantageous for all students and we believe your child may be better able to define his/her career choices based on this test. ASVAB test results can help students find their interests, explore careers, and build a plan.

College Visits
We are excited to have many wonderful colleges and universities visit CVHS beginning the week of Sept 12th through the week of November 14th . During the visit, you will hear from the college admissions representative an overview about their university, majors/programs offered, and financial aid/scholarship information. This is also an opportunity for you to ask general questions about college applications. There are so many interesting and dynamic universities, spend time this fall learning about what is offered both in-state and out-of-state.
All in-person visits will be hosted in the College and Career Center in the library during tutorial and lunch. When viewing the schedule, the title will indicate if it is in person or virtual. To view time, simply click on the visit below. If the visit is virtual, you can find the link to the virtual visit once you click on the college below.
College visits have concluded for the 2022-23 school year.
