DIRECTOR OF INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Andreas K Waldukat, Director of Instrumental Music
Since 2005, Mr. Waldukat has been the Director of Instrumental Music at Capistrano Valley High School He is currently the Fine and Practical Arts Department Chair and director of the Capistrano Valley, Black and Gold Brigade. During his tenure at CVHS, the instrumental music program has grown to include over 250 instrumental music students. His ensembles consistently received superior ratings at festival and are competitive throughout the Southern California. In 2012 the CVHS Advanced Orchestra was invited to perform at the 2013 California All-State Music Education Conference.  Mr. Waldukat was selected “Teacher of the Year” by his peers and colleagues at Capistrano Valley in 2013. He is an active guest conductor and clinician in Southern California. He led ensembles for the CUSD Superintendent's Honor Concerts as well as the San Bernardino County Music Educators Association.
 
A native of Berwyn, Illinois, Mr. Waldukat received a Bachelor’s of Music from Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts. In 2013, he completed a Master’s program in Educational Leadership and Administration, and earning a “Promising Young Leader” scholarship through Brandman University; part of the Chapman University System.
 
Mr. Waldukat is a member of the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association, California Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education. He has been a music consultant and visual clinician throughout Southern California and the Chicago metropolitan area; serving on the visual staff of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2005, 2006, and 2013; and the Santa Clara Vanguard from 2007-2009. He is an alumnus of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, where he marched from 2000-2004.  Mr. Waldukat served as the corps director for the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps from Boston, Massachusetts from September 2013- August 2015.  In July of 2015 Mr. Waldukat was interviews by Halftime magazine celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps.
