SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA. –  The Capistrano Unified School District Board of Trustees appointed Joshua Porter as Principal of Dana Hills High School, effective August 1, 2017.
Porter was appointed Principal of Dana Hills High School at the Board of Trustees’ July 26 meeting.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead a school with a proven legacy of educational excellence in its community,” Porter said.
Porter has served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Coach.  Currently, Porter is Principal at Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, California, a role he has held since 2014.

“I have a passion for developing graduation pathways and integrating technology into everything we do,” Porter said.  “I am excited to partner with a dynamic and forward-thinking District and the innovative staff at Dana Hills.”

Porter’s background has provided him with valuable experience in management, oversight, and development of nearly all aspects of a school.  His leadership in student-centered curriculum integrating the use of new technology, student-teacher collaboration, and professional development has prepared him for this role.  Porter’s appointment is effective August 1, 2017.
