Superintendent Vital to Host Community Forum

Topics will include Innovation in the Classroom, Smarter Balanced Assessment tests and Community Engagement through transparency, accountability and oversight

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – Superintendent Kirsten Vital invites community members, families, business owners and city leaders to join her and District staff at the November 30, 2016 Community Forum at the CUSD Education Center located at 33122 Valle Road, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. The Forum will begin at 7:00 p.m.

“Classroom instruction has changed dramatically the last few years,” stated Superintendent Vital. “We’re excited to share with you the work of our teachers, site leaders and staff as they have opened up access to outdoor learning, technology, the arts, robotics and pathways to college and career. We also have opportunities for our community to provide oversight and accountability to the District in the areas of facilities and finance.”

CUSD’s innovation in practice, through Great First Instruction, includes a focus on STEM, forward thinking and the opportunity for students to use tools and technology to practice and problem solve in all grade levels, from preschool to grade 12.
District staff will also give an update on the Smarter Balanced Assessment tests, College and Career Counseling services and an opportunity for Q&A.
