Until further notice (!) regular meetings will be held on designated Mondays at lunch in PE20. Why? These departmental meetings coincide with Leadership Team meetings that occur after school on the same day. Your concerns and comments to the team will be current and fresh this way...

Meeting Agendas
Aug. 22 We will discuss:

  • Intro of new teachers

  • Supplies

  • Blackboard collaboration (the horse is not dead--it's just resting)

  • Collaboration--keeping it simple

  • Focusing on one or two classes only--likely English I and/or English II

    • At the summer Leadership Team meeting, all dept. chairs agreed that collab last year was too fragmented--we should focus on one or two core issues for one or two core classes

  • All teachers will work on English I and/or II

  • Less focus on common assessment--more on commonality of curriculum

  • Ideally we will set up a mechanism for sharing student work and some grading of other teacher assigned work

  • Ideally we will share assessment results

  • We will use collab time to look at disaggregated state test results to strengthen weak areas

  • Topics from the floor

    • Patti--Reading cards and portfolios

    • Jewel--Reading cards and portfolio | schedules posted (I'll have ALL schedules on cvhs.com and our English website as soon as Greg gets me the master schedule)
