Legally Blonde Auditions!

Get ready Capo, because PINK is about to become the new Black and Gold!  Auditions for our spring musical, Legally Blonde are coming!  Come to the info meeting on Wednesday, January 17th for all the info you need.  For now, here are the important upcoming dates:

Wednesday 1/17:  Info Meeting @ lunch in the Blackbox--all are welcome!  No experience necessary.  No pressure and no judgement today, just answering questions and sharing our expectations.

Monday 1/22:  Dance audition workshop--Meet in the Blackbox.  No pressure and no judgement today.  Just come to have fun, bring your friends, and be ready to learn the dance!

Tuesday 1/23:  AUDITIONS 3-6pm:  We will start with Ensemble auditions which means just singing.  Then we will do Lead Auditions which will be singing and acting.  For the singing portion, bring sheet music for 16 bars of a memorized song (not from Legally Blonde) that showcases your talents.  You will be singing with an accompanist.  For the acting portion (only necessary if you are auditioning for a lead), you need to have memorized a 1 minute monologue (not from Legally Blonde) that shows us you can be the type of character you are trying out for.

Wednesday 1/24:  AUDITIONS 3-7pm:  Dance auditions.  Hopefully you've perfected it over the last couple of days since you learned it.  After dance auditions will be Callbacks for leads.  We will announce lead call backs either the night before online, or this morning online and on the Blackbox door.  If you get a callback, come see Mrs. Tucker to get your call back scene and music.

Cast list should be posted that night, possibly the next day.

Any questions?  Email Mrs. Tucker at or come see her or come to the info meeting.  Break a Leg!!

Actors' Rep and Adv. Drama Auditions

ACTORS' REPERTORY CLASS:  Auditions for current Drama students who want to reach the top level acting class at Capo.  Pre-requisite is Drama 1, Advanced Drama, or a combination of the two, or extensive theatrical training at a different high school or theatre.  Please click here for more information on what to prepare for the audition.

ADVANCED DRAMA CLASS:  Auditions are only for students who feel that they are ready to skip a year of Drama 1.  This should only be considered for students who have experience in plays (at Capo or community theatre) and have a love of theatre.  Students will be skipping a year of lessons, so they should be fast learners who can catch up with the terminology, theatre history, and analysis techniques taught in Drama 1.  Click here for more information on what to prepare for the audition.

There are no auditions necessary if you want to add Drama 1 to your schedule, or if you are a continuing Drama 1 student who wants to take Advanced Drama.
