NCAA - College Athletics

Athlete Information

NCAA Website 

Attention CVHS students who are planning on participating in college athletics:

  1. Be sure you are registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center ~ ncaa.org
  2. Students – Please complete the Transcript Release Form and turn into Mrs. Garland in the Guidance Department. She will mail an official transcript to the NCAA for youhttp://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/eligibility_center/TranscriptReleaseForm.pdf

**You are now registered with the NCAA and the school may release your transcripts per requests from collegiate coaches.

 At the end of Senior Year: Be on the lookout for NCAA requests.

  1. Be sure you send an official transcript to NCAA by using http://www.parchment.com/   and choosing the NCAA Eligibility Center as the destination
  2.  Send your official SAT and ACT scores from the testing agencies (http://www.collegeboard.org ) and (http://www.actstudent.org ) to the NCAA Eligibility Center using code 9999

The Organization

The National Collegiate Athletic Association serves as the athletics governing body for more than 1,280 colleges, universities, conferences and organizations.  www.ncaa.org

        The NCAA has three divisions

  • Division I and II offer scholarships
  • Division III is non-scholarship
 

NCAA Eligibility Center

Certifies the academic and amateur credentials of all college-bound student-athletes who wish to compete in NCAA Division I or II athletics

 

NCAA Clearing House

Only for NCAA Divisions I and II        

  • Student MUST register directly, preferably at start of junior year 
  • Student MUST send an official high school transcript at the completion of their junior year       
  • Clearing House Approves High Schools’ core courses annually         
  • Clearing House Verifies : High School Graduation, Core Courses, ACT/SAT sum scores, GPA           
  • Clearing House Determines if you can practice, play or receive athletic scholarship
  • Clearing House Determines amateur status
