AP Credit at Saddleback College

Saddleback College offers credit to students who earn a 3 or higher on AP exams.  This link  goes to their Catalog, Alternative Credit Options.  Also, research the colleges or universities you are interested in and what credit they will give.  On college websites, just type in AP CREDIT in their search function.

Get your AP Scores Online

AP exam scores will be available online this summer.  Reports will no longer be mailed home.  Sign up online so you are ready to access your exam scores.

Advanced Placement (AP)

The AP Exams will be administered at CVHS May 5, 2014 – May 15, 2014

Each exam is given only once at the date and time established per College Board Regulations
All AP test takers need to be reminded of the following:

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Several sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers for completing multiple-choice answer sheets.
  • Pens with black or dark blue ink for completing areas on the exam booklet covers and for free-response questions in most exams.
  • A watch (in case your exam room does not have a clock that you can see easily)
  • Up to two calculators with the necessary capabilities if you are taking an AP Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, or Statistics Exam.
  • Photo I.D.
  • Snack in clear baggie with name on it.
  • Water allowed in clear container with label removed.
  • Room temperatures vary; a sweatshirt might come in handy.

WHAT NOT TO BRING:

  • Cell phones, digital cameras, personal digital assistants (PDAs), BlackBerry smartphones, Bluetooth-enabled devices, MP3 players, e-mail/messaging devices, or any other electronic or communication devices.
  • Back packs, purses, wallets, satchels(etc). Leave in locker.
  • Books, compasses, mechanical pencils, colored pencils, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or notes
  • Rulers and straightedges
  • Scratch paper; notes can be made on portions of the exam booklets.
  • Computers
  • Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions
  • Watches that beep or have an alarm
  • Portable listening or recording devices (even with headphones) or photographic equipment
  • Clothing with subject related information

*Students taking the Spanish Language exam will be placed randomly in groups to record their answers.  Historically, the last group can get out as late at 2:30 pm

Requesting a Fee Waiver

  1. Register online for your AP exams – see Quick Links on www.cvhs.com
    1. Indicate YES you qualify for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program
  2. Bring verification of eligibility* to Mrs. Churchfield or Mrs. Packard in Guidance.
  3. Once approved/denied, you will receive an email and then you may pay for your exam online.

 

*Qualifying to pay a reduced amount for each AP exam you order will require the following documentation of eligibility.

 

Give us a copy of the letter from District Food Services stating participation in the Free/Reduced Lunch Program. If a duplicate copy of the letter is needed contact Mrs. Badger or Mrs. Crowe at District Food Services between the hours of 7:00am – 3:00pm (234-9509).

 If you leave a message for Food Services, speak clearly and slowly and give the following information:

  • Name
  • Phone
  • Email
  • 7 digit student ID number

They can email you a copy of your letter which you can then forward to Mrs. Churchfield at (LMChurchfield@capousd.org).

Give us a copy of the first two pages of parent’s 2013 Federal Tax Return to verify Annual Family Income.

You will need to fill out two forms identically.  Turn one form into the Attendance office this week.  Keep the other form as your pass on and off campus during testing.
