NHS Selection Procedures for 2012-2013
Summary of Requirements for Candidates
- Candidates must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors.
- Candidates must have an academic weighted GPA of 3.6 or above. Members are required to maintain this GPA throughout the school year.
- Candidates must have previous experience in both community service and leadership, and show evidence of a strong moral character.
- Candidates must submit two formal recommendations

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
