Many organizations offering scholarships, will request that students apply online. Whenever possible, links to scholarships will be provided on the CVHS website. Some scholarship applications may need to be given to Mrs. Wendt for processing. In such a case, the due date will be earlier than that which is listed on the application. Other applications must go directly to the organization sponsoring the scholarship. It is important to note that some scholarships and contests may be open to students at all grade levels.

UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
CVHS has the opportunity to select one graduating senior to be named the Leadership in Service Scholarship recipient. The student needs to meet the admission standards, but does not need to be awarded based on GPA and test sscores. If you are a student who has an innate desire for personal development and is committed to service within our school, church or community, see Mrs. Wendt in Guidance. the University of Dayton is a top-tier Catholic research university. The scholarship is worth $10,000 ($2,500 per year for four years).
UNIVERSITY OF OREGON SCHOLARSHIPS
DEADLINE: Check with University of Oregon for deadlines.
The Summit and Apex Scholarships recognize students who have reached the pinnacle of achievement in high school. The Summit will provide out-of-state students with $32,000 over four years, or the Apex will award them $16,000. Recipients of either scholarship will be able to combine the Summit or Apex award with most other UO scholarships, such as the General University or Diversity Excellence Scholarships.
The awards will be granted automatically based on GPA and test scores as follows:
Summit 3.80 GPA or higher on a 4.00 scale - 1200 combined critical reading and math SAT or 26 ACT
Apex 3.65 GPA or higher on a 4.00 scale - 1150 combined critical reading and math SAT or 25 ACT

MARBELLA SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
The Marbella Scholarship Foundation was established to help fund college educations for local students. Senior boys and girls who have participated on a golf team and have attended high school in South Orange County are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Golfing ability is not a criterion for receiving the scholarhip, Members of Marbella Country Club are not eligible to apply for the scholarship. Academic achievement, community service, financial need, letters of recommendation, and a personal interview are all considered for the award. The scholarship amount is $2,500 per academic year for a $10,000 total over the course of the recipient's 4-year college career, as long as the maintenance requirements are met. Students must have an Academic GPA of no less than 3.2 and planning to attend a 4-year college or university. Applications are available in Guidance.

Scholarships of $500 will be awarded to selected graduating high school seniors in the Gas Company's service territory who will be attending a vocational/technical schooL or two-year college. Students attending a four-year college or university are eligible for a $1,000 scholarship.

- Students must enroll full-time in the fall.
- High school graduates must have an overall GPA of at least 2.5.
- Applicants must have demonstrated strong community involvement.

Saddleback College's Associated Student government will be recommending one graduating senior from ALL high schools in South Orange County to win a scholarship to cover up to the equivalent of 14 units for their first semester at Saddleback. The scholarship is worth more than $650.

This $500 scholarship is awarded in memory of Stuart Herman, a deceased member of the former Mission Viejo Lodge and generous benefactor of the scholarship program.
The following are the applicable guidelines:
- The award is based 75% on scholarship and 25% on service.
- Not more than five students per school will be interviewed.
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. Interviewees should be well-rounded in terms of academics, school activities and community service.
- Awards will be made on a totally non-sectarian basis. Race, creed. color, religion and national origin will not be considered.

CAPISTRANO UNIFIED MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (CUMA) SCHOLARSHIP

CUMA is offering up to $750 in scholarship money to a qualified graduating senior who is planning on attending college in the fall. It is also offering a $500 CUMA Legacy Scholarship to be awarded to children of paying CUMA employees who have a graduating senior. Please see Mrs. Wendt for applications and details.
