This U.C. 'a-g'-approved ROP course introduces you to character and special effects animation, 3D modeling, and visual storytelling. First year and advanced sections are available. We like to move it, move it! MOVE IT!
Upload projects to the ACME Animation website and interact with other high school peers, college animation students and professors, and even industry pros from Animation Mentor and studios such as Pixar, Disney, Warner Bros, Sony ImageWorks, and DreamWorks.
Every other week, get one-on-one feedback about your work during live videoconferences with pros from various sites around Southern California.
A unique benefit of this course is that it allows you to get personalized mentoring on how to enter top college programs and animation-related careers. This comes directly from college students in those programs and people in the industry. No more guessing about portfolios or demo reels!
Former students of this course have gone on to work for Nickelodeon Animation Studio, participated in Disney Apprenticeship Training, and/or interned at Blue Sky Studios. Our students have been accepted into art/animation programs at the following schools and colleges: CalArts, Ringling College of Art & Design, Savannah College of Art & Design, Chapman University, Academy of Art University, Cal States San Jose, Long Beach, and Fullerton, California College of the Arts, Laguna College of Art and Design, Brigham Young University, Anim School, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and the Art Institute of California.
Plus, a grade of B or better will allow you to earn credit toward the animation certificate program at Saddleback College. Cha-ching!
