Capo Drama Student Named Disney Luminary
In conjunction with its 60th Anniversary celebration, Disneyland created a program called Disneyland Resort Dreamers and Doers.
Dreamers and Doers aims to "celebrate the power of possibility and recognize the youth who take action to improve their community, home, or school". On February 20th, the Anaheim resort hosted a banquet for 60 "Shining Stars" (impactful students from various Orange County high schools). Out of these 60 students, six exceptional "Luminaries" were selected. Capistrano Valley High School is excited to announce that senior Madison Null was named a Disney Luminary.
Each Luminary was given a weekend stay at the Disneyland Resort as well as the privilege of selecting an Orange County non-profit to receive a $3,000 donation. This money is intended to help the chosen non-profit continue its efforts in strengthening the community, conserving nature, helping people live healthier, or encouraging them to think creatively.
Madison herself is an individual who embodies many of these qualities. She thinks creatively and strengthens her community by helping people live in a healthy manner. As treasurer of the CVHS Awareness Club, Madison works regularly to promote positive body images on her campus. Her club tries to make students aware of issues like eating disorders, sexual assault and domestic violence, and self-harm; the club's belief is that knowledge can be a powerful tool in preventing these dangerous scenarios. Recently, Madison cast and directed a production called "Eat: It's Not About Food". Her show was performed five times, allowing hundreds of students to hear its important message.
A true example of service and out of the box thinking, Madison is wonderful representative of Capistrano Valley and a worthy recipient of this prestigious honor.
International Thespian Society
Here at Capo Drama, we are involved in the International Thespian Society. The goal of ITS is to honor student excellence in theatre arts. Upon completing and recording 100 hours of theatre-related activities, a student can opt to be inducted into the ITS, thereby becoming an official, card-carrying Thespian. These theatre-related activities include being in the cast or crew of a play or musical, attending a play or musical, writing a critique of that performance, being on the Executive Drama Board at school, etc., etc. See the form to the left for a more detailed explanation of the Thespian Point System.
California Educational Theatre Association

The Cappies is a theatre critque writing program that aims to celebrate high school theatre. Student critics from participating schools attend high school productions, compose reviews and submit them to their Cappies mentors in hopes of being published. OC Cappies works with the Orange County Department of Education and current season student reviews are published on The Orange County Register website. There is also a Tony's style Gala at the end of the year awarding the top-achieving schools, based on their peer reviews.
So far this year, Capo Drama has had four of our critics published in the OC Register for their remarkable reviews.

Bring any items to Mrs. Tucker's classroom (the Blackbox) on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. See the list below for details. - White face make-up
- One gigantic spider (the size of someone’s back)
- Metal (or metal-looking) goblets and chalices and dinnerware
