Auditions for Spring Musical 2017- URINETOWN
Spring Musical INFO MEETING Wednesday, November 16th in the Blackbox at lunch. Come and find out about the musical auditions, what it takes to be in a musical, the plot of the show, etc, etc. Feel free to ask questions as well. There is no obligation to audition, it's just an informal, informational meeting.
Auditions will be December 1st and 2nd, after school.
Wednesday 11/30: Dance Workshop. Come learn the audition dance from our choreographer, so you can practice that night.
Thursday 12/1: Lead auditions (singing and acting), Ensemble audition (singing)
Friday 12/2: Dance Auditions and Callbacks for Leads
-Learn and practice the audition dance
-Find, practice, and bring in 2 copies of 16 bars of sheet music from a musical (not Urinetown, not pop music)
-If you are auditioning for a lead, find and rehearse a 30 second-60 second monologue (not from Urinetown or from TV/Movies) which displays your acting ability, and convinces us that you can be the character you are auditioning for. Find monologues in Mrs. Tucker's monologue books, or online. Remember, this show is a comedy (a dark comedy--so show us your sarcasm, over-exaggeration, and your confidence. Have fun with it!)
-Bring in your Audition Contract (pick one up at the Info Meeting or from Mrs. Tucker)
Any questions? Come to the Info Meeting, or ask Mrs. Tucker in person or via email.

The Cappies is a theatre critque writing program that aims to celebrate high school theatre. Student critics from participating schools attend high school productions, compose reviews and submit them to their Cappies mentors in hopes of being published. OC Cappies works with the Orange County Department of Education and current season student reviews are published on The Orange County Register website. There is also a Tony's style Gala at the end of the year awarding the top-achieving schools, based on their peer reviews.
