Looking for available scholarships to apply for? Why not apply for the PTSA Scholarships which are awarded to students applying to a trade/professional school, a community college or a 4 year college! The scholarships are based on a well balanced student who has an array of activity/work experience, along with their essay response showing their yearning for higher education and their academic achievement. Please remember you must be a member of the PTSA by March 10, 2016 to apply. The deadline for submitting your scholarship application is March 30, 2016.

www.khanacademy.org – Includes a great library of video lessons you can search through from Kinder through college levels.

 

www.hippocampus.org   Another great source of video lessons for middle school through college and also includes social studies.

 

www.ixl.com  another source that has help in several subject areas. In math, for example, your child can do practice problems and it will adjust the difficulty as they do well.  If they miss a problem it takes them step by step through how to do it.

SPRING ASSESSMENT RESULTS

The state of California released the results from the 2015 Spring assessments on September 9, 2015.   Families with students who took those assessments should be receiving individual reports mailed home soon.
 

The email below includes a video prepared by the California Dept. of Education (CDE), which explains how to read the new student reports.  CAPTA.org has links to this video in Spanish and English as well as links to grade level parent guides to the new assessments on its homepage.
