Free Teen Driver Safety Fair on October 10

The Auto Club in collaboration with Assembly member William Brough, the City of Mission Viejo, and the California Highway Patrol will host a Free Teen Driver Safety Fair, on Saturday, October 10 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Oso Viejo Community Park in Mission Viejo. This FUN, educational event includes:


·         A teen driver “vehicle fit” which helps ensure new drivers are safe and comfortable in their vehicle

·         Interactive driving activities, a rock climbing wall, DJ, contests and giveaways

·         Educational workshops for parents AND teens on Graduated Driver Licensing Laws and proper vehicle maintenance

·         FREE activities and representatives from over 20 organizations

·         FREE lunch from In-N-Out Burger to the first 500 guests (limit one per person)

Check out these great websites for Homework Help: – Includes a great library of video lessons you can search through from Kinder through college levels.   Another great source of video lessons for middle school through college and also includes social studies.  another source that has help in several subject areas. In math, for example, your child can do practice problems and it will adjust the difficulty as they do well.  If they miss a problem it takes them step by step through how to do it.

The state of California released the results from the 2015 Spring assessments yesterday.   Families with students who took those assessments should be receiving individual reports mailed home soon.

The email below includes a video prepared by the California Dept. of Education (CDE), which explains how to read the new student reports. has links to this video in Spanish and English as well as links to grade level parent guides to the new assessments on its homepage.
